Do not mess with my Hijab

And I am back, world! I apologise extensively for not having posted in such a long time. I have been on holiday and am currently preparing for my final exams (yikes I know but do wish me luck). Anyways, let’s chat…

A month ago, my team and I thought of an idea for a shirt, and it is this below:  ‘The Do Not Mess with My Hijab’ shirt. This very special shirt (created and designed by the TDA team) is dedicated for all my hijab-wearing beauties out there. I stand before you wearing an emblem of the utmost support, respect, and admiration. You might ask why, and I would answer you with the following. I believe in the power and importance of self-expression, and how much more we all need to support and encourage one another. I am here to remind you to express; never suppress. Through fashion, I am able to do so much of that. Wearing a garment that has some words of value empowers me to expand my thinking sphere, to have the power to say ‘um why not? because really who is who to say ‘no’ but YOU. All this to tell you, I hope you’re wearing something extraordinary that makes you feel GOOD, happy, satisfied, empowered, warm as sunshine, and as smooth as the ocean floor (okay I had to say that!)

How to style a vibrant jacket

I am in love with Asian fashion and style. Specifically, I am obsessed with this brocade mandarin collar traditional Chinese Jacket. Everything about it is just splendid, the detailing of the patterns, the green and pink together…marvelous! So I was a bit flustered on how to style it in my wardrobe, so I brought this jacket out of its traditional wear and turned it into a modern-casual piece to top off a jeans and white crop-top look. And voila! Below here is what I arrived to. I pulled my hair in a tight top-knot to have more of an emphasis on the jacket and the simplicity of my ensemble.

Let me know what you think of this look. Hope you enjoy this little style blurb of mine. X,-B

Californian Vibes

Pink is power. Sun is love. Beauty all around you is byzance (made-up french expression for describing something that is magnificent/ ‘grandiose’). Warm air is a divine hug. With all this combined, throw some aesthetically-pleasing clothes on you, whatever you feel like mixing together, it will always make you shine bright like the sun that first shines on you. Because YOU have to wear the clothes and not the clothes wearing you. 😉

Have a lovely rest of your weekend! sunkissed bisous to you all. X, -B

Barefoot & Backyards

The weather these days makes me feel like Summer time is soon approaching, and I cannot help but want to turn into more of a ‘natural-less-makeup-barefoot-silky-flowy-comfortable-garments’ kind of look.I love to be walking and playing around in parks, gardens, and just generally being outside within fresh air, without a cellphone, without the weekday hassles. I feel like it is so reviving and nourishing for our minds. In my opinion, it is important to remember the simplicity of life back then. To me, beauty is simplicity (but hey not all the time because I do love to be glamorous and regal). On the other hand, simplicity is subjective, and so I am not going into that path now.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this one, and that you find yourself getting more outside. Today, I challenge you to express your style in the most of natural ways.  X, -B

Sunday bricks and triangles

No laws on those brick walls… A wall is a boundary only if you don’t use it. Today, this one is my friend thanks to its skin-colored texture ;).

Sunday my lovelies is made for chilling they say, made for praying they say. Go and make it your day….I put on a 60’s inspired, thick black eyeliner, usually seen on the runway of Lanvin and these days Fendi. I kept my face minimal with makeup, as I wanted more focus on my eyes. However, a little bronzer does not hurt on those cheekbones. 😉

The color of this blouse that I am wearing is one my faves. It goes really well with a blue denim-look. Not only does it chic-up the whole look but also adds a what I like to call ‘va-va-voom’ vibe. Anyways, no need to explain further, as you can clearly feel the depiction of this outfit through the images below. Enjoy and have a blessed Sunday! X, -B

こんばんは (Good Evening)

Did you know that the digital camera, video camera, CDs, DVDs, and Karaoke were all Japanese inventions? hmm, well now you know my lovelies ;)..Oh and let’s not forget about instant ramen noodles (which I’m sure you already know this one but just wanted to emphasise as I am a Ramen Fanatic). Anyways, I just wanted to share with you all my enthusiasm and passion for this culture. Especially, their take on fashion and expression of personal style. In my eyes, when I look at Japanese street style or runway, there is never a fear of expressing whatever garment or accessory or makeup one pleases to wear. There is this freedom and liberation of expressing one’s style that makes their fashion speak and standout for itself. For such reason, today I channel my inner self to fulfill my rush of Japan-inspiration.

After this photoshoot, I went to eat at my favorite Japanese restaurant= perfect end to the day.

Sat ur day

Have you noticed ? In the word ”Saturday”, we find: ”ur day”.

Yes, that’s it guys, today, make it your day, because you are beautiful no matter what, and as cliche as it sounds and as cheesy as it looks, it is a reality. YOU ARE. So do like me, dress basic, change, modify, cut, replace. Do your thing. There is no recipe. Just what you feel good in. Some days you will crave an outfit by a designer, some other days you will simply want to wear what your little hands can do.

Creativity is happiness, doesn’t have to be a complex structured haute couture shirt made from a textile that you can only find on Jupiter. Can just be cotton-made, tucked in differently. Anyway, anyhow, anytime, I’m happy to receive all your messages and your views 😉 love you all like a galaxy. X, -B

Spring Blossoming

Welcoming Spring with my new invented trend: the see-through pastel colored bands that can be incorporated into any pieces that are in need of revival. I got inspired because I have pounds of vintage clothes that I don’t wear as often, and I am a huge fan of throwing and mixing things together…so mixing the vintage with the modern makes me WANT to wear them again. Yay! Stay tuned, as more inventions are coming! X, -B
